Guerilla Street Food Strikes Again

Sunday saw Indilicious (me, friend and hubby) shlepping our chafing dishes, folding table, hand-cut business cards, Chicken Tikka, Aloo Gobi, roti and half a dozen condiments to Precita Park in SF. A lunchtime impromptu street food event took over a small section of sidewalk, and transformed the cold winter day into a boisterous meeting of friends, residents, family and, of course, puppies! The air was rife with laughter and conversation as those who planned to come by just for a bite of something ended up staying for a couple hours, hanging out, talking with each other, getting to know the vendors and learning something about this burgeoning street food scene in the Bay Area.

Indilicious sold out of the famed Tikka Tacos, while talking it up with fellow vendors and friends and family who came out to say hi and taste the goods. We tasted great things from ToastyMelts (probably the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had), EvilJerk (oh, spicy pork kabobs), and LumpiaCart (fried mini-egg rolls of goodness).

A successful outing all around – profitable, fun, but more importantly, we met lots of new people, interacted with customers, caught up with those we hadn’t seen in a while. In short, connections were made.
